Good Morning Investors!

🔥In this post, I want to inspire you to follow my footsteps on the FIRE journey! I wanted to share my journey with you, to get to know each other more. Also, I want to read your story in the comments and get inspired too!

🔥I'm 42, and I always knew I didn't want to work until retirement. It sounded like a 40+ year grind. 40+ years of work, only to receive a state pension every elderly was complaining about. "It's so little. I can barely afford to live!" I was 100% sure I didn't want that.

About 12 years ago I learned about the FIRE movement, and I became fascinated. It gave hope, it showed an alternative way, something I was willing to work for. But can I do it? Is it snake oil? Is it just a mirage?

🍀Do I need to get lucky and invest in the next $BTC (Bitcoin) or $NVDA (NVIDIA Corporation) or $AAPL (Apple) ?

💹Will simply investing in the $SPX500 (SPX500 Index (Non Expiry)) of $VOO (Vanguard S&P 500 ETF) get me there?

It sounded impossible at first.

Ludicrous.

Like gaming the system. Cheating.

Then it started to sound plausible.

The more I crunched the numbers and made projections, the more plausible it became. OK, I'm in, let's do this!

Did I know a lot about investing? No.

Was I able to save over 50% of my income? Yes.

Did I make mistakes? Many.

Did I give up? Never.

Every failure was a learning opportunity. Never gave up, and here I am, living the dream!
