Guess who bought $1 Million of $NKE (NIKE) shares based on insider info!

When a CEO buys his own stock with real money, I pay attention. Especially when it is not a symbolic gesture, but a seven-figure decision. So I always get excited about insider info purchases! My previous article on the matter:

NKE, Nike insider buy shares like batman, tim cook and CEO Elliott Hill

On 12-29-2025, Elliott Hill, President and CEO of $NKE , purchased 16,388 shares on the open market for approximately $1,001,306. This was not part of any compensation plan, incentive scheme, or automatic award. It was a discretionary, open market transaction using his own capital.

What matters more is the scale. This single purchase increased his holdings by roughly 7.3%. After the trade, he now owns 241,587 shares of $NKE . That is meaningful exposure in my eyes, not just to build investor confidence.

Insider buying does not guarantee short-term upside, and anyone treating it as a timing signal is missing the point. The real value here is alignment. A CEO stepping in with a million dollars at current prices is implicitly saying risk and reward look asymmetric in his favor from here.

Nike has been through a difficult period. Margin pressure, inventory issues, and softer consumer demand have weighed on sentiment. This trade suggests that internally, confidence is stronger than the market narrative implies.

I always look at insider activity as a context signal, not a buy signal. But when a CEO buys this size, in the open market, and increases an already large position, it deserves attention. Update, on the 29th of December 2025, Tim Cook bought 50,000 Nike Class B shares at about $58.97 each, totaling roughly $2.95 million on the open market, which nearly doubles his personal stake. Cook is serving on Nike’s board as lead independent director, a role he’s held for years.
