I did some deep research on battery tech and the lithium market, and the findings might surprise you! 📊

The Reality Check: Despite all the buzz about "lithium-free" alternatives, lithium demand is absolutely EXPLODING 🚀. We're looking at lithium demand growing from 165,000 tonnes in 2023 to potentially 1.7 MILLION tonnes by 2050 – that's a 10x increase! I know, 2050 is far away, but the point is, demand is increasing.

What's driving this massive demand?

- EVs will account for ~90% of future lithium growth

- Solid-state batteries actually need 2.5x MORE lithium than current tech

- $TSLA (Tesla Motors, Inc.) and other EV makers aren't slowing down anytime soon

But here's the thing with non-Li-ion batteries: 🔥

Yes, sodium-ion batteries are real (Natron Energy just started US production), and BYD unveiled lithium-free tech(So they claim in marketing materials). BUT these alternatives are mainly for stationary storage, and/or they are still in the lab. They are not your $TSLA (Tesla Motors, Inc.) Model 3! Energy density still lags significantly behind lithium-ion.

The investment thesis:

- Short-term: Lithium prices crashed 85% since 2023 = a potential buying opportunity 💰I may expand my investment in $LIT (Global X Lithium & Battery Tech ETF)

- Long-term: Supply deficit looming by 2030. Deep-sea mining is about to launch!

My take: The "post-lithium" narrative is overblown. Even with alternatives like sodium ion for grid storage, lithium remains THE battery metal for high-performance applications. The physics don't lie! ⚡

Smart money is positioning now while prices are depressed. When $SPX500 (SPX500 Index (Non Expiry)) hits new highs and EV adoption accelerates, lithium will follow 📈
